The word Maharajah is from a Sanskrit word (Maharaj) that means "great king"

The great monarchs in ancient the Mughal Dynasty were considered to have the most luxurious food and fine surroundings.

This is a characteristic we have taken to heart and the ethos of Maharajah Restaurant.

Our aim is to give you the perfect dining experience created by our inviting and relaxing decor, attentive but unobtrusive service, a mouthwatering selection of cuisine from our homeland and a selection of fine wines from our diverse cellar.

SOOOO LUCKY THIS IS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF OUR HOME! . Have been to this restaurant many times since it opened - with husband, friends and family. We feel so lucky to have the best Indian restaurant we've ever been to just a few hundred yards down the road! Not only is the food excellent but the staff are tremendously helpful and we often just say which meat/seafood we want and how hot and leave it to them to decide a dish. We also enjoy take-aways from there if we don't fancy going out. We prefer to go in the week when it's quieter as we're retired. Do try this restaurant - you won't regret it ! ".
